Jo Louise Pacey from KH Hair’s Leicester salon was recently chosen to be part of the 2018 Club Star Art Team an initiative run by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
Here she tells us about her first educational and motivational day with the team.
Today has been a real inspiration!
The Club Star team arrived at the Jamie Stevens salon in Kensington where we got to meet for the first time and were welcomed by creative director, Jonathan Andrews.
Jonathan began the day by showing us a creative and intricate cut while he shared his experience with us and passed on his knowledge and some really useful tips. I thought he would be working with numerous models but, surprisingly, he only had two but managed to show us so many great and varied looks.
This showed us that you can really utilise your time and skills to get many looks from just one model. This is something that will definitely help me in the future and something I can pass on to the rest of the KH Hair Creative Team when we’re doing a photo shoot.
More looks emerged throughout the afternoon and we ended the day with a mini photo shoot. This was a real surprise as we were taken outside for a walk to a little side street to take the photos. I absolutely loved this approach and it was a brilliant way to end the day.
Watching Jonathan work with such passion and passing on his knowledge has given me a boost of energy to get out there and be creative! Seeing how hair can be transformed by making small changes shows how you can get so many looks from just one model and make the most of the time spent with them. Here’s to the next inspiring Club Star get-together!
The Club Star Art Team, which changes every year, is a selection of the most talented stylists from across the country and members get the opportunity to take part in stage presentations and major hairdressing events as well as undertaking their very own photo shoot.
