Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Colour Project Team

Since Leicester salon stylist, Joanne (Charlie) Roe, fought off stiff competition to win a place on the 2019 Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Colour Project Team, she has been having an exciting few months learning from, and being inspired by, some of the true legends of our industry.

The Colour Project Team is a colour-specific annual programme that gives top-flight colourists the opportunity to benefit from up-close and personal seminars, hands-on master classes and uniquely tailored educational events designed to help take their colouring skills to a whole new level.

Earlier this year, the team got to grips with ‘all things creative colour’ at an inspirational day hosted by Harriet Stokes, colourist and educator at Not Another Salon in London. With 60,000 Instagram followers and a knack for creating stand-out beautiful colours, Harriet made sure bold shades, dramatic bleeds and stunning transformations ruled the day.

More recently, Charlie and her team mates got the chance to work with a crack squad of hairdressing aficionados when team leader Paul Dennison invited along award-winning artist, Robert Eaton to art direct this year’s Colour Collection. The stunning creations were featured in top industry magazines including Hairdressing Journal and RespectYou.Me and, of course, the Fellowship’s own publication.

“I’m so lucky to be part of this year’s Colour Project Team.” says Charlie.  “I’ve had the chance to meet some amazing people and make lots of new friends in the industry. I’ve also been honoured to work alongside some of my icons including Paul Dennison and Robert Eaton whom I collaborated with on the latest Colour Collection.  The experience was a real high for me and, for the collection to make two magazine covers, is something I’m very, very proud of.”
