KH Hair Training Academy makes the cut to national industry awards final.
The KH Hair Training Academy has been named one of the UK’s best educator hubs after securing a place in the final of the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2019.
The Educator of the Year Award, sponsored by Wella Professionals, recognises salons which train up to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. The KH Hair Training Academy secured a place in the final for its impressive commitment to training, a comprehensive staff appraisal system, and an inspiring focus on staff development.
Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards said; “To be named as a finalist in the Educator of the Year category confirms just how exceptional the KH Hair Training Academy is. They have crafted a superior training policy and excel at turning out accomplished trainees. The backbone of any company is how well a person receives training, evaluation and feedback, and the KH Hair team is a shining example of how skills can successfully be passed on to help raise a new generation of salon leaders. We wish them the best of luck for the final in September.”
Darren Messias, joint managing director at the Long Eaton-based Academy added: “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as a finalist in this category for the sixth year running. Having been fortunate enough to win the title in 2017, we are so proud of our team of educators for producing consistently high training for so long across our Group.
“Of course, while it’s a great honour to be recognised for our education programme, this award is a complete team effort and we wouldn’t be flying so high without our students and their hunger to learn, so our huge congratulations go to everyone involved.”
Hairdressers Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards, now in their 21st year, promote professionalism, innovation and excellence, while recognising those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile of the hairdressing industry and make it vibrant and growing.
Currently, over 287,000 people work within the hairdressing, barbering and beauty industries* contributing over £7bn to the UK economy each year. It’s an ever expanding industry too, with over a third of salons in 2018 (41%) noting that their turnover had increased from the previous year.**
The final of HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards will take place on 9th September 2019 at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, London.
