KH HAIR TRAINING ACADEMY TRIUMPHS AT NATIONAL BUSINESS AWARDS
The KH Hair Training Academy is celebrating after winning the ‘Training Award’ at the 2017 British Hairdressing Business Awards (BHBAs).
The Long Eaton-based Academy was announced the winner at a glittering ceremony held at the Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster on Monday 11 September. The Training Award celebrates the best educators in the country and recognises those salons or salon groups that train up to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent – putting education first and delivering tangible results that make a difference to their learners’ lives.
Darren Messias, Managing Director of the KH Hair Group, said: “We are delighted to win the Training Award and can’t thank the judges and sponsors enough. It is our belief that training is the backbone of any good business and it’s something we have been passionate about for many years. The people we train are the future of our business and we simply couldn’t do it without our team of fantastic, hard working and dedicated tutors. This award is for them and both my fellow MD Tim and I are thrilled they have got the recognition they all deserve.”
The BHBAs, hosted by Hairdressers Journal International (HJI), celebrate the very best salon businesses in the country – an industry which contributes an estimated £7bn to the British economy and one which employs more than 300,000 people. They seek to find the most forward-thinking, successful and valued businesses in the country. A win on the night marks a salon out as the cream of the crop, recognising the winner as a standout in their profession and contributing to both the industry and the economy in a truly meaningful way.
HJI’s Executive Director, Jayne Lewis-Orr, said:
“Education is crucial no matter what stage you’re at in your career. This award celebrates the salons that recognise that and which make a concerted effort to prioritise the growth and development of their team. Congratulations to KH Hair Academy who invest, motivate and inspire their students and remain at the forefront of education. A very well-deserved win!”
The Front of House Team of the Year category celebrates the unsung heroes of the salon – those who are the first and last contact with the client.
It seeks to recognise exceptional customer care, communication and going above and beyond in the name of service.
The Retail Salon of the Year category recognises salons that have a strategic and seamless approach to retail – considering it a critical part of the professional salon service, rather than a hard sell.
