KH Hair Talent Live on Stage!
Major brands, salons and hair industry icons flooded ExCeL London earlier this month for the UK’s largest hair show, Salon International 2019.
The number one destination for hairdressing professionals everywhere, Salon International is at the heart of the industry with over 400 brands showcasing great products and equipment, services and practical solutions – not forgetting plenty of live stage action.
Three talented KH Hair stylists were among those who took to the stage over the three-day event to showcase their skills alongside the very best in the industry.
We spoke them afterwards to hear all about their experiences.
Mary Geoghegan (KH Hair Nottingham)
“I was over the moon to get the invitation to represent KH Hair on the Wella Stage at this year’s Salon International. I was asked to showcase Wella’s new ‘No Strings’ colour service which is a speedy 10 minute service offering clients a brand new look with a low commitment.
“With Wella’s Koleston Perfect ME+, clients can choose from an incredible 131 shades to get their own bespoke look and, on stage, I produced two completely different finishes using the exact same technique, showing how versatile the ‘No Strings’ colour service is. Robert Eaton launched this campaign for Wella and he introduced me on stage for all three shows which was super special!
“I styled the models myself to show street wear fashion and commercial-friendly/environmentally-friendly looks, highlighting anti-fast fashion and professional no-commitment hair colour.”
Joanne Roe (KH Hair Leicester)
“I was absolutely thrilled to be on stage at Salon International as part of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Colour Project Team. We produced a collection of colours which were inspired by the mentoring days we have spent over the last year with different colour artists.
“My model’s hair was inspired by Chris Williams from Rush Academy. I worked different shapes within a colouring technique to complement the hair cut, using hair wefts to create a different look without colouring the model’s own hair. It was an amazing opportunity and, although I was only on stage for just a few short minutes, every single second was fantastic.”
Elizabeth Williams (KH Hair Hinckley)
“I was lucky enough to take part in five shows on the Wella Stage over the two day event which was just fantastic. I was representing Wella Hair and working with my fellow Generation Now team members and, over the weekend, we created different long hair dressings ranging from editorial to on-trend looks.
“Salon International is one of my favourite events of the year. It’s a really intense two days as you are thrown straight into prep early in the morning, colouring the models and then you have to re-imagine the looks throughout the day with a really quick turnaround.
It was a fabulous experience but prepping backstage alongside my icons including Patrick Cameron and Robert Eaton was the real highlight for me.”
Salon International 2020 will take place at ExCel London on 10-12 October 2020. See you there!
