Showcasing the amazing charity work the KH franchises accomplished in 2024!
In 2024, KH Hair franchises continued to make a positive impact, not only with their exceptional hair care services but also through their ongoing commitment to charity. Known for their high standards of quality and care, our teams have been at the forefront of supporting a wide range of charitable initiatives across the UK. Whether through fundraising events, donations, or local community outreach, these salons are proving that beauty isn’t just about looks—it’s about making a difference.
In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at the inspiring ways our salons are giving back and how their charitable efforts are helping to create a brighter future for those who need it most. From charity runs to falling from the sky, our franchisees have gone to great lengths for their fundraising, and we want to applaud everyone who has taken part!
A daring dive from Arnold duo for Parkinson's UK
Firstly, two daring individuals from KH Hair Arnold raised money for Parkinson’s UK. Lottie Wilding and Mollie Hovell raised a total of £3,169 during their fundraising period for a charity skydive. The brave pair, from our KH Arnold branch, on 4th August 2024 took to the skies to accomplish a terrifying stunt all in the name of charity. Both young girls were scared but found the overall experience exhilarating. They smashed their original goal of £1,500 and landed safely with the rest of the Arnold team at the bottom supporting them and cheering them on.

Doing good for the community through cleaning the streets of Arnold
It’s not all about raising money! Sometimes it’s just about doing what you can for the local community. That’s why the Arnold salon’s 18-member strong clean team, led by salon manager Helen, spent their Sunday morning cleaning up the streets of Arnold. During the time they spent outside picking up litter they managed to fill 15 bags of rubbish! Fab work team!

Successful and informative Menopause Evening
In November, KH Hair Arnold held a menopause evening at Mapperley Golf Club where the proceeds of ticket sales were donated to The Menopause Charity. The evening welcomed 50 members of the local community who were looking to become more informed of the struggles that women go through when dealing with menopause. Expert, Dr Alice Duffy, our own KH Hair Newark’s Maxine Sutcliffe, and many others came to contribute their experiences and knowledge to educate others on this subject. We thank salon director Dawn and salon manager Helen for all their successful endeavours leading up to this event.
Giving back for Christmas
Another amazing piece of charity work took place over the Christmas period from our Arnold team. Dawn and Helen took charge of a charity drive where they asked people of their local community to donate toys and clothing to the Salvation Army “Be a Star” Christmas Present Appeal, so kids who are less fortunate have something to look forward to on Christmas Day. The Arnold team collected two full boxes and three bags completely full of presents for the children.
Throughout 2024, KH Arnold also made various donations to charities such as the Sherwood Memory Café, Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes and Nottingham Ukrainian Ensemble. We appreciate everything this franchise has done during 2024 and hope they continue spreading good throughout their community.
Red Nose Day brought cakes and pyjamas to our franchises
On Red Nose Day, which took place 15th March 2024, the Nottingham salon held a Cake Bake where they made and sold cakes to their clients to help support the efforts of the yearly event. Throughout the Cake Bake, they managed to raise £89 for the Red Nose Day charities. Also, during this day, Arnold held a Pyjama Day, where the employees of the franchise woretheir finest pyjamas and served their clients wearing their big red noses!
Nottingham striding towards a better tomorrow for Cancer Research UK
In September, KH Nottingham took part in the Nottingham “Shine Night Walk” where members of the team joined other members of the Nottingham community in an overnight 10k walk through Nottingham. Debbie and Sean, directors of the franchise, joined their team in raising a whopping £1939 for Cancer Research UK. Debbie says, “The walk was a fabulous way to clear our heads and have a good chat with each other. Really great for our physical and mental health whilst lighting up the streets of Nottingham for a great cause!”
Another member of the Nottingham team, Eloise, also took part in Race for Life for Cancer Research UK where she alone managed to raise £260! We are so proud of the Nottingham team for all they accomplished throughout 2024.
The Christmas period led to giving from many of our franchises, including KH Nottingham who raised money in the salon during National Christmas Jumper Day on 12th December. The franchise managed to raise £105 from donations that day and they had a wonderful day of laughter, fun, and teamwork during this chaotic time of year, all while giving back to the people who need it most!

The Robin Hood Half Marathon completed by Nottingham trio
In late September of 2024, members of the Nottingham team took on the Robin Hood Half Marathon for their own personal charities. Senior stylist, Beth, had managed to push herself and raise £500 for her chosen charity, When You Wish Upon A Star. Front of house member of KH Nottingham, Eloise, had chosen her charity of Our Dementia Choir and managed to bring in £755 for her efforts. Lastly, Jess, another senior stylist at KH Nottingham chose The Lashes Foundation as her charity for the event. She accumulated £550 through her fundraising. Over the course of September, KH Hair Nottingham raised over £3000 for various charities – an inspiration to us all!

Our team at KH Leicester running for a local children's charity
Throughout September 2024, some of the amazing team of KH Hair Leicester set their eyes on walking or running hundreds of miles between them for Leicester Children’s Holidays. Amanda Fall, Salon Director, and Joanne Roe, Salon Manager lead the team by each pledging to run 200 miles each to support the charity. Followed by five other members who also pledged to walk/run 200 miles, and two final members who both pledged to walk/run 100 miles. They managed to raise £502 in total and we cannot be prouder of what they achieved.
KH Hair Hinckley remembering Menai
In December, a raffle was held by the KH Hinckley team for their “Forever Menai” initiative in which they raised money for a former colleague who suddenly and tragically passed in 2021 at the young age of 17. The £252 that KH Hinckley raised was generously donated to the Bodie Hodges Foundation, a charity that supports bereaved families during periods where they have lost a child. Thank you to Hinckley for honouring Menai and raising money for a great cause.
We are so fortunate to have so many of our franchisees try to help the world be a better place. We at KH Hair hope that everyone will continue their donations and charity appeals throughout 2025 and bring joy and help to the communities who need it.
